The active ingredients in Pit Prep help to eliminate body odor are Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs). The AHAs in Pit Prep include:

  • Malic Acid: A natural organic acid found in fruits like apples, known for its sour taste and often used in skincare products for exfoliation.
  • Tartaric Acid: A crystalline acid occurring in grapes and commonly used in the food industry for its acidity and as a leavening agent.
  • Glycolic Acid: An AHA derived from sugarcane, utilized in skincare for chemical exfoliation, promoting a smoother complexion.
  • Lactic Acid: A gentle AHA produced during fermentation, used in skincare for exfoliation and moisturization without excessive irritation.

Yes. Pit Prep uses a blend of AHAs, including glycolic acid, to gently exfoliate and reduce armpit pH to eliminate odor causing bacteria.

When used as an armpit primer, Pit Prep drastically improves the performance of most deodorants and antiperspirants. This includes "natural" deodorants, as well as mainstream deodorants and antiperspirants like Secret and Dove.

Pit Prep will work as a chemical exfoliant even when paired with deodorants that have a high pH. However, to get the full benefits and avoid potential irritation, we recommend avoiding pairing Pit Prep with deodorants that contain baking soda.

Pit Prep works best when used liberally. For best results, we recommend fully saturating your armpit as well as the areas a few inches around your pits. This will ensure odor causing bacteria is reduced around your entire armpit area. This usually means 3 to 5 sprays under each arm.

First, we recommend that you use the product consistently because Pit Prep gets more effective the longer you use it. Before you make up your mind, try using it every day after showering for 5 consecutive days.
